Job Description:
Responsible for the direction and performance of all field operations on tunnel projects in the SE United States to ensure the work is performed in conformance with the project objectives and requirements.
Principal areas of responsibility are safety, cost, schedule, construction operations, productivity, quality, material control, field-based procurement, labor relations, and Owner interface.
A successful candidate will be able to manage, monitor, and control the field project organization and its functions from commencement of the preparation phase through completion of the construction on projects in excess of 50 million dollars. He or she must have strong communication skills, be proficient in managing and directing people, and have the ability to identify the project requirements as well as communicate those requirements to the project team. Additionally, the candidate must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, and must be able to work independently, as well as, within a team.
Duties & Responsibilities include:
Oversight and management of the project staff including engineers, superintendents, and safety personnel. Interface with Owner’s personnel. Implement and maintain effective management, planning, and cost control systems using Primavera Project Planner, Heavy Job and related software titles. Advise management of developments that may affect project profit, costs, schedules, and client relations. Review and approve project schedule and all updates. Develop and/or review and approve construction operation plans. Track changes, assemble and negotiate change orders with the Owner. Administer subcontracts in accordance with company policies and procedures. Determine construction staffing requirements in cooperation with management. Provide support and guidance for the personal and professional development of project personnel. Establish and maintain communications with the Owner to ensure accurate and timely flow of information. Develop and issue monthly status reports to keep management informed on construction progress, direct and indirect construction costs and forecasts and other activities that are a part of the work.Basic Qualifications:
20 years Construction experience with 10 years experience in Tunnel Project Management
Education:
BSCE Degree and P.E. preferable, degrees in construction management or similar will be considered.
